My 9 yr old had to choose an autobiography for a school book report and we randomly chose this one from a level based reading list and Amazon reviews, not knowing anything about Eugine. I don't think we could have picked a better book. The book isn't very long, and is well written so was a quick read, 9yo read it twice the first weekend we had it. We both enjoyed learning about Eugenie's fascination with marine science at a young age and then how she worked hard and followed her dreams make a career out of what she loved to do. I love the short note at the end of the book by Dr. Clark encouraging kids to do what the love, even if it's nothing to do with marine science. Great lesson, great book.

A great account of Dr. Eugenie Clarks contributions and adventures in the field of marine biology/ and sharks in particula.r Amazing lady with such a love of life and thirst for knowledge . Her recent death at age 92 in Sarasota, Fl. a real loss to all who knew and loved her and to the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, which if you go to Sarasota is a MUST see.
I loved it as a kid, and love it as an adult, too. I bought it for my daughter to do a biography book report for school. She loved it, too!
My 11 year old, future Marine Biologist, picked Eugenie Clark for a Biography project for school. She loooooved this book. Easy reading and Inspiring. Great role model for girls.
Great children's book!
Picked the book for two fourth grade boys that I tutor . They are below the books level, but were so interested in the story that it just seemed easy for them to read.
This book has inspired my 4 year old daughter so much! Her new goal is now to be a scuba diver and she is more determined than ever during her swim lessons. A great simple chapter book.
