Opal A Lux Novel Jennifer L Armentrout Books
This book .... OMG this book! Everything happened and I mean everything. I had all the feels and in the end, this book has destroyed me. You have to read it! Stop what you are doing and read it. Even if you thought that the first to books were just okay this is the book that will make you love the series.Opal is everything that I could have wanted in the Lux series, this is the best book so far. We start off I think like a week after Onyx and everyone is still recovering from those horrific events. Dawson is back and of course he isn't the same guy we knew from Shadows (Lux #0.5) he has been through a lot of horrible stuff and the love of his life is missing so of course he is in a bad place, basically he is dealing with PTSD. I love the fact that Dawson is back in the story and the relationship between him and Katy is so sweet. He is having trouble and can't really go to the people from his life before he was taken but with Katy there is something there. I can see the start of a good friendship and I wish Jennifer could have developed it a little more.
As for how everyone else is in the start of Opal, well Ash and Andrew have calmed a little but Dee has totally gone dark side. Things are broken for her and she starts to become a different person, Adam's death has really change her and her relationships to the people around her. Katy is feeling guilty and Daemon is feeling Katy. I swear to you that I didn't like him in Obsidian, the first book, then I read a tiny bit of Oblivion (told from Daemon's POV) and I was like he might be okay. By the end of Onyx I was like "Ok I really am feeling me some Daemon" now after Opal, I want to marry him. That's right I have drunk the kool-aid, I have completely fallen for Daemon Black.
Daemon has completely changed he is totally with Katy and their relationship is starting to grow and become something more. He shows his love and affection for her all the time in the little stuff he does and I find it totally adorable. However, he is still Daemon with his smugness, huge ego and cocky attitude. Daemon and Katy still get sassy with each other and I love it.
Here is the low down, Blake is back and no one trusts him, I sure as hell don't. Will is still out there and Katy and Daemon have no idea if the mutation worked (please say it ain't so), people are missing, bodies are flying, things are getting even more dangerous and while some mysteries are answered others keep popping up. Now here is the real killer, Opal ended on a gut-wrenching cliffhanger that brought me to tears and I want some payback. I have to read Origin, there is no choice in the matter. I have to find out what happens next and best of all, this book is told from alternating POVs, get ready for Origin.

Opal A Lux Novel Jennifer L Armentrout Books Reviews
This series...omg. I don't even know how to review these books without shouting in excitement!!
I breathed a sigh of relief to see Kat and Daemon finally together, but that's about the only cal emotion you'll feel from this book. The action is ramping up as Kat, Daemon, and their friends figure out what's happening around them and try to decide on their next steps. Mourning for friends lost, navigating new relationships, etc. All the while, they still have to do the every day stuff like school...
Katy and Daemon become a force to be reckoned with in this book. They clearly make each other stronger, despite also being each other's greatest weakness. The chemistry between these two continues to burn like the hottest fire. Considering this is mature YA, I have to compliment the author on the fact that is one of the most sexually charged books I have ever read and it's not even explicit! I was literally fanning myself from time to time. The sexual tension is so thick, it wraps around you like a blanket.
Daemon is always leaning toward the extreme with his emotions and, holy cow, when he decides to love...he goes all out. The way he takes to it, caring for Katy, wanting her safety and happiness, putting her first, it's like it was always that way. So natural that I almost forgot was a jerk he was in the beginning. Both the jerk and the lover and equally sexy though... Their relationship is like the "breather" between the action. It lets your heart drop out of your throat for a minute and beat a little harder, for a reason other than fear and apprehension. It's the effect balance.
The return of Dawson is a major shocker at the end of book two. It's heartbreaking to see who he has become in comparison to the memories from Dee and Daemon. And, as the story unfolds and we learn more and more about the mysteries surrounding his disappearance, things get a hell of a lot more complicated. At every turn, we learn something new, and most of the time, I wasn't sure what was good and what was bad.
Now...let me just say... WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER???????? I wanted to die until I realized I had the next book on my kindle. Whew! Once again, Jennifer L Armentrout does something incredible, this ending is simultaneously one of my most favorite and most hated moments in the series. Any more and I'll spoil it. You absolutely must read this. Keep going. It's completely worth it.
P.S. Ash is still a twat and I'm trying no to hate her...failing miserably.
Not sure why this is labeled book 2. It's definitely book 3. Each book is better than the last of this series. I have cried, laughed, and every other emotion in between. I am completely engrossed in this story.
I think part of my devotion is Damon Salvatore. HA HA!!!! I mean Daemon Black...lol. Daemon and Dawson are a foot taller than everyone. This is the ONLY difference. Daemon's character screams Damon Salvatore played by Ian Somerhalder from The Vampire Diaries. His entire personality, wit, sarcasm, comedy, pretty much everything out of his mouth screams Damon Salvatore in his quest to keep Elena's heart for eternity. Ian's eyes may not be unusually bright emerald green or glow, however they are his most striking feature. Author even has him lift one eyebrow just like Damon Salvatore does.
This book had a lot to add to the story. So much happened. Last page made me scream. Need to start Origin.
Note to Author
Kind of pushed abstinence for people of age. The reasons for them waiting or ways of being interrupted were pretty lame considering their relationship and all they have been thru. Just saying. Otherwise, thanks for a FUN series.
